The Spirit of Scotland Show to Perform Two Live Shows at the Wayne Theatre on October 16, 2025

Waynesboro, VA - The Wayne Theatre will welcome The Spirit of Scotland Show on Thursday, October 16, 2025, with two live performances at 4:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Direct from Edinburgh’s historic Old Town, this internationally recognized production brings the music, dance, and culture of Scotland to the Wayne Stage for a one-day engagement as part of the Theatre’s ongoing 10th/100th anniversary season.

For several years, The Spirit of Scotland Show has been a major attraction in Edinburgh, performing for audiences from around the world. The production features a talented cast of champion dancers, acclaimed musicians, and traditional vocalists who are among the finest in Scotland’s thriving folk and performing arts community. Several cast members have performed with the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo and on major world stages, including royal performances for Queen Elizabeth II and King Charles III.

“This is a very special opportunity to experience Scotland’s cultural heritage in a professional and authentic production,” said Tracy Straight, Executive Director of the Wayne Theatre. “We are pleased to bring this performance to our stage as part of a season that honors global traditions and celebrates our own local legacy.”

Audiences will enjoy a range of traditional and modern music and dance, including favorites such as “Loch Lomond,” “Skye Boat Song,” and “Mhairi’s Wedding,” as well as original pieces arranged exclusively for the production. The show features traditional Highland dances including the Highland Fling and Sword Dance, alongside contemporary choreography that bridges past and present.

The performance is presented as part of the Wayne Theatre’s 2025-2026 season, which commemorates the 10th anniversary of its current establishment as a performing arts organization and the 100th anniversary of the original Wayne Theatre, first opened in 1926.
