Many musicals have huge tap ensembles, others have 13 minute "dream ballets", and the hip-hop in Matilda, Hamilton, and In the Heights can inspire all audiences! In this overview of four different dance styles, Students will get a sampling of Broadway Jazz, Ballet, Tap, and Hiphop. They will learn the origins of each style and how these styles play into Musical Theatre performance! On the final day of class, students will work on using steps and techniques they have learned to create their own piece, which will performed along with a piece in the four other styles introduced earlier in the week!
Classes will meet at Studio Wayne, just up the hill from the theatre.
