Auditions for Junior Theatre Festival

We are so excited that you're interested in Auditioning for our Junior Theatre Festival (JTF) Ensemble, performing “The Drowsy Chaperone, JR”!

JTF brings together student musical theater troupes from all over the world for a weekend of musical theater mayhem and madness. Each troupe performs fifteen minutes from a Broadway Junior®️ show for adjudication by a panel of musical theater experts. The weekend also features professional development for teachers, workshops for students and parents, a New Works Showcase featuring new musical adaptations soon to be released and concludes with a grand finale concert headlined by Broadway’s best!

How does the audition process work?
Students will attend a music audition and a dance class. If they didn't audition for “Newsies JR”, they will be asked to sing 60 seconds of a song from a musical preferably in a style similar to the show and possibly answer a few questions. We are looking for young performers with a positive attitude who have a passion for performing.

Auditions will be on Sept 10, in the Wayne Theatre's Custin Cabaret from 5:30-7:30 pm, and you will be notified via email of acceptance.

We will then set up a parent meeting to walk you through the entire process and answer any additional questions you may have, as well as set up official registration.
