🎵 What to Prepare

• Please prepare two 60 second cuts of musical theatre songs that you might sing at this concert.

A quick note about song choices: This is a miscast concert, so we absolutely want you to think outside the box and bring us songs you’d love to sing but wouldn’t traditionally be cast to perform. That said, we’re not interested in “miscasting” material that has specific racial, cultural, disability, or other identity-based casting requirements. Be bold and unexpected—but please be thoughtful, too.

We’re also keeping things family-friendly-ish. A little darkness, innuendo, or mischief is welcome. Overtly sexual or inappropriate material probably isn’t the right fit for this event.

Bonus points for spooky! Creepy, dark, witchy, haunted, or otherwise Halloween-adjacent material is always welcome during HalloWAYNE season—but you don’t have to bring us a ghost song to be a part of the fun.

If there is a potential barrier that might prevent you from being able to audition, please let us know how we can work with you so you can still audition.

About the Performance

HalloWAYNE:DEAD WRONG — A Miscast Concert

What happens when actors sing the roles they were never meant to play? Things get a little… DEAD WRONG.
This HalloWAYNE, our performers are stepping into some of their favorite musical theatre roles–just not the ones you’d expect. A chance to step completely outside their usual casting. Expect familiar faces in unexpected roles, songs they’d probably never get to sing, and a few choices that are just plain wrong—in the best possible way.
It’s HalloWAYNE. It’s musical theatre. It’s Miscast. It’s DEAD WRONG.
Come see what happens when the right actors sing all the wrong songs.
The rehearsal process will be rooted in Wayne Theatre's consent-based practices. We prioritize actor safety by utilizing clear communication, intimacy and violence choreography where appropriate, regular check-ins, and Tap-Ins to ensure performers feel supported throughout the process.
If there are particular themes or content that may be personally activating for you, we encourage you to indicate them on your audition form or speak privately with the director. Disclosure is always voluntary, and conversations will be handled with care and confidentiality.
Our goal is to tell these beautiful stories with artistry, empathy, and respect while fostering a rehearsal environment where every actor feels safe to do their best work.
Your well-being matters to us, and we are committed to creating a respectful, safe, and collaborative environment.
