Adapted for an intimate setting, the production follows a lawyer who enlists an actor to help him recount unsettling events that began at the funeral of an elderly recluse. A spectral figure, known locally as the Woman in Black, is said to bring terror to all who see her. In this immersive retelling, audiences sit within the world of the play as the two men recreate the chilling night, using the barn’s architecture and atmosphere to heighten every whisper and footfall. It is a rare chance to experience the Wayne Theatre on location, ideal for the Halloween season.

A troubled lawyer hires an actor to help him retell a story that has haunted him for years. The tale begins at the funeral of an elderly recluse, where he first glimpsed the Woman in Black. Locals live in fear of this specter, said to haunt the area where her illegitimate child was accidentally killed. Legend holds that anyone who sees her dies. Before invited friends, the lawyer and the actor recreate the events of that dark, stormy night, drawing the audience into a classic, slow building ghost story.
