Helping Students Prepare for the Next Stage

Studio Wayne’s College Prep program is a comprehensive, conservatory-style training opportunity tailored to help students prepare for competitive performing arts colleges and university programs. This personalized initiative is designed to guide each student through the intense and often overwhelming application and audition process, offering hands-on support that extends beyond instruction in the arts.

The performing arts college admissions process is more competitive than ever. Students and families are often left navigating a confusing path of essays, auditions, reels, and requirements with little direction. Studio Wayne College Prep provides a solution. Unlike costly virtual programs that offer limited interaction and generalized advice, Studio Wayne offers personalized coaching right here in our local community.

What the Program Offers:

• A tailored curriculum built around each student’s strengths, areas for improvement, and college goals
• Evaluation and mentoring from a team of skilled teaching artists with diverse performance and educational backgrounds
• Targeted training in acting, voice, movement, and dance to ensure students become well-rounded performers
• Help crafting audition materials, including monologues, vocal pieces, and demo reels
• Support with college applications, essays, and portfolio materials
• Headshots, resume creation, bios, and marketing materials to present each student professionally
• Guidance for parents, easing stress by offering clear direction and open communication throughout the process
• Strategic placement in workshops and performances that strengthen college readiness
• A hands-on approach that allows students to work closely with trusted mentors who know them and their goals

Will Otto, a longtime Studio Wayne student, was the first participant in the College Prep program. With guidance from Studio Wayne educators, Will was accepted to multiple institutions, giving him valuable flexibility as he makes decisions about his future. His success is the result of his hard work, talent, perseverance, and the structured, personal support that he received through this program. His journey is a powerful example of how proper preparation and mentorship can open doors and build confidence.

Led by our Director of Education, Corey Holmes, and supported by a dedicated team of instructors, the Studio Wayne College Prep program empowers students and families with knowledge, tools, and one-on-one attention every step of the way.
