AEP programing for 3rd-12th grade

Based on a true story of an orphanage in the Warsaw ghetto in the 1940s, where Janusz Korczak cared for over 200 children, teaching them to care for each other and the community, and trying to prepare them for the horrors that were coming. Using the power of the truth, arts, and what would now be called "socio-emotional" learning, Korczack provides comfort during one of the most fear filled times in history.

General SOLs covered:

Holocaust history and awareness, Listening strategies, antisemitism awareness, Holocaust awareness and Jewish history, integrating Jewish experiences in the United States pre- and post-American Revolution, pre- and post-World War II and the Holocaust, analysis, interpretation, Social emotional learning.
