The Kingston Trio to Perform Live at the Wayne Theatre on October 3, 2025

Waynesboro, VA - The Wayne Theatre will welcome The Kingston Trio for a live concert performance on Friday, October 3, 2025, at 7:30 p.m. The show is part of the Theatre’s 10th/100th anniversary season, which celebrates both the 10th anniversary of its modern re-establishment as a performing arts organization and the 100th anniversary of its original opening in 1926.

Originally formed in San Francisco’s North Beach club scene in 1957, The Kingston Trio played a pivotal role in the American folk music revival that gained national attention in the late 1950s and early 1960s. With their signature harmonies and acoustic sound, the Trio quickly rose to international fame. Their songs, including “Tom Dooley,” “Sloop John B,” and “Where Have All the Flowers Gone?” became major hits and continue to resonate with audiences today.

More than a successful recording group, The Kingston Trio helped shape the direction of American popular music and opened the door for folk artists such as Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, and many others. Their music has remained relevant through the decades, appealing to both longtime fans and new listeners who appreciate storytelling and musical craftsmanship.
