The World-Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra to Perform at the Historic Wayne Theatre on November 4

Waynesboro, VA – The Wayne Theatre is proud to announce that the world-renowned Glenn Miller Orchestra will perform live on the Wayne Stage on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. This one-night-only performance will bring the signature sound of one of America’s most iconic big bands to the heart of downtown Waynesboro.

Formed in 1938 by bandleader Glenn Miller, the orchestra became a major force in popular music during the swing era. The ensemble achieved widespread acclaim with a series of enduring hits and performed extensively for both civilian audiences and U.S. troops during World War II. Following Miller’s disappearance in 1944 during his military service, the band’s legacy continued with the support of the Glenn Miller Estate.

Today, the Glenn Miller Orchestra performs under the direction of vocalist Nick Hilscher and features an 18-member ensemble committed to preserving Miller’s original arrangements. Their performances include classics such as “In the Mood,” “Moonlight Serenade,” and “Chattanooga Choo Choo,” as well as newer selections performed in the distinctive Glenn Miller style.

"We are delighted to welcome the Glenn Miller Orchestra back to the Wayne Stage", says Tracy Straight, Executive Director of the Wayne Theatre. "Their sound is truly timeless. We know that those who appreciate music will absolutely love this concert. Our theatre is an ideal setting for this genre. There's really nothing like experiencing a 'big band' sound live, in-person", Straight adds.

Tickets are now available at www.waynetheatre.org or by calling the Wayne Theatre Box Office at 540.943.9999. The event is expected to draw audiences from across the region and is part of the Theatre’s ongoing commitment to presenting high-quality live performances that honor the legacy of American music.

This concert is also part of the Wayne Theatre's 10th and 100th anniversary celebrations which kicked off earlier this year and will continue through 2026, when the Wayne Theatre will experience its 10th anniversary as an arts organization (Est. 2016) and its 100th anniversary as a theatre (Est. 1926).
