Studio Wayne: Summer 2024: Broadway Dance Intensive (Rising Middle and High School Students)

Rising Middle and High School students.

Many musicals have huge tap ensembles, others have 13 minute "dream ballets", and the hiphop in Matilda, Hamilton, and In the Heights can inspire all audiences! In this overview of four different dance styles, Students will get a sampling of Broadway Jazz, Ballet, Tap, and Hiphop. They will learn the origins of each style and how these styles play into Musical Theatre performance! On the final day of class, students will work on using steps and techniques they have learned to create their own piece, which will performed along with a piece in the four other styles introduced earlier in the week! Session meets Monday through Friday July 8-12, 2024, from 10am to 11:30am

Class location is at Studio Wayne, just up the hill from the Wayne Theatre.
